From Totes to Tail Wags: The Story of our Church Puppies

What started as heartbreak has turned into hope, thanks to all of you.

Earlier this month, our Humane Team got a call that no one ever wants to hear—puppies had been abandoned outside of a local church in plastic totes. When our team arrived, they found twelve tiny, filthy, and emaciated puppies struggling to survive. Tragically, one had already passed away before we could get there.

The surviving eleven were rushed to Northview Animal Clinic, where they got the urgent care they needed: fluids, food, and medical evaluations. Tests showed every single one of them was battling severe hookworm and roundworm infestations. One especially fragile pup had to stay behind for round-the-clock care, but the others were placed into loving foster homes where their healing journey began.

And wow—what a difference just one week can make. These little ones have been soaking up all the TLC they can get: warm baths, bellies full of food, soft beds, toys, and plenty of cuddles. They’re still facing a few more weeks of treatment and growing before they’ll be ready for adoption, but the transformation already has us smiling ear to ear.

Here’s where YOU come in: because of your incredible generosity, we raised more than $9,000 to cover their care! On top of that, you sent in over 300 name suggestions for these sweet pups. We can’t thank you enough for rallying behind them.

And guess what? Their nameless days are almost over! We’ll be revealing the chosen names during a special Facebook Live event in October. The exact date will be announced soon, so keep an eye on our page—you won’t want to miss it!

These puppies’ story began with abandonment, but thanks to our amazing community, they now have a future filled with hope, healing, and love. From the bottom of our hearts (and wagging tails), thank you.
