To ensure that as many pets as possible have the opportunity to find their forever home, Friendship Animal Protective League is a managed intake facility. We schedule intakes based on available space at the shelter ensuring we are able to provide the best care possible for the most animals. In order for your intake request to be considered, the Animal Intake Request Form must be completed. If you do not complete the form, you will not receive a response. We receive several requests every day and do our best to schedule intakes in a timely manner. We cannot accept any animal from outside of Lorain County at this time.
Important – We are legally unable to accept stray dogs – they must be referred to Lorain County Dog Kennel. They can be reached at 440-326-5995. If the Lorain County Dog Kennel is closed, please contain the dog (if safe to do so) and call your local Sheriffs Department. They will dispatch the on call warden to intercept the dog.
