Wags to Riches Casino Night: A Night That Changes Lives

For more than a decade, Wags to Riches Casino Night has been the cornerstone fundraiser for Friendship APL—and this year was no exception. Thanks to the unwavering support of our community, this incredible event continues to fuel our mission, helping us save thousands of animal lives each year.

From lifesaving heartworm treatment to complex surgeries, the funds raised through Wags to Riches ensure that animals in our care receive the critical medical attention they need for a second chance.

A Community That Shows Up

This year, we welcomed approximately 375 guests, supported by 24 generous sponsors, and powered by an incredible team of dedicated staff and volunteers. Together, this community made the night not only possible—but truly unforgettable.

One of the most beloved traditions of the evening returned once again: dozens of beautifully curated raffle baskets, generously donated by local businesses and supporters. Thanks to this collective effort, we raised over $22,000 from raffle baskets alone, giving guests the chance to win amazing prizes while directly supporting lifesaving work.

An Unforgettable Night of Fun

Guests enjoyed an evening filled with excitement and entertainment, including:

• A high-energy live performance by Risk Factor
• Casino-style poker hosted by High Rollers
• A photo booth experience from Once Upon a Party that captured memories throughout the night

The Heart of the Mission

As always, the true highlight of Wags to Riches was the presence of our VIP pet guests—animals whose lives have been transformed through the care made possible by this event.

This year’s special guests included: 

• Saint, one of the rescued church puppies
• Abby and Piper, two brave pregnant moms given a safe place to deliver and recover
• Nemo, who overcame limited use of her back legs and found her forever home shortly after the event

These animals are powerful reminders of why this event matters. Their stories are living proof that every dollar raised goes directly toward giving animals the second chances they deserve.

Looking Ahead

This year’s event was especially meaningful as we premiered a special video highlighting our 2025 accomplishments and sharing our vision for the future. From expanding lifesaving programs to strengthening community partnerships, we are more committed than ever to serving both animals and the people who love them.
