What happens when you combine animal lovers, creativity and a passion for saving lives? You get The Art of Saving Lives, Friendship APL’s very first adult coloring book fundraiser!
We are excited to announce that the pre-sale is now live, giving our community the opportunity to purchase this one-of-a-kind adult coloring book while supporting the animals who need us most.
But this project is about much more than coloring. It is a celebration of the animals we love, the people who support them and the incredible community that makes our work possible.
It All Started With Your Pets
A big part of this project began with our Pet Photo Contest.
We invited members of our community to submit photos of their beloved pets for the opportunity to have them transformed into coloring book artwork. The response was incredible, and we received so many wonderful entries that choosing the finalists was no easy task.
But we didn’t make the final decision alone.
Our community voted!
Animal lovers had the opportunity to vote for their favorite submissions, and the winning pets were selected by the people who make our work possible every day — our supporters.
The winning pets will now be featured throughout The Art of Saving Lives, forever becoming part of a project that will help animals at Friendship APL.
And there is an especially meaningful connection for many of them: several of the winning pets are Friendship APL alumni. Animals who once needed someone to give them a second chance are now helping other animals receive theirs.
Your Support Helped Bring the Book to Life
The Pet Photo Contest wasn’t just a fun way to get our community involved. The funds raised through the contest helped make this coloring book possible.
Every contest entry and vote helped us move one step closer to turning an idea into a finished book. Thanks to the generosity of our participants, supporters and sponsors, we were able to begin the process of creating and producing a fundraiser that will continue giving back to the animals in our care.
Now, we’re excited to take the next step!

A Special Thank You to Tiffany’s Flowers
We also want to recognize a very special community partner who helped make this project possible.
Thank you to Tiffany’s Flowers for becoming a printing sponsor for The Art of Saving Lives!
Their generosity helped us bring the coloring book from a digital concept to a physical book that our community can enjoy. Support from local businesses like Tiffany’s Flowers allows us to put more of the funds raised through this project directly toward our lifesaving work.
