Becoming an APL Member

As a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization, we rely on the dedication of a community who believe in and support our mission to ensure all animals have the opportunity for a better tomorrow. For just $40, you can help save one life. For less than $4 a month, you can single-handedly save the life of one cat or kitten. For less than the cost of a cappuccino, you can change the future for one dog or puppy. If $4 a month can do that, imagine what $20 a month could do! Volunteering at the APL

Lorain County citizens have been volunteering for Friendship APL since it began. Indeed, Friendship APL was created and is governed by a volunteer Board of Trustees. A formal volunteer program was initiated in 1998. Volunteers fill crucial roles in the shelter by walking the dogs, cleaning cages, and keeping the shelter operating. Volunteers also work with the cats, the spay & neuter program or take pets to nursing homes. They may also serve on various committees, help with fund raising events, or do other wonderful things.
