Volunteering at the APL

Lorain County citizens have been volunteering for Friendship APL since it began. Indeed, Friendship APL was created and is governed by a volunteer Board of Trustees. A formal volunteer program was initiated in 1998. Volunteers fill crucial roles in the shelter by walking the dogs, cleaning cages, and keeping the shelter operating. Volunteers also work with the cats, the spay & neuter program or take pets to nursing homes. They may also serve on various committees, help with fundraising events, or do other wonderful things. Foster Program

Thank you for considering Friendship APL’s foster program. Your generosity can make the difference between life and death for hundreds of cats, kittens, dogs, puppies, and other at risk animals. Foster care is a critical part of our ability to adopt out more than 5,000 animals each year. Providing a space in your home and heart allows our animals to heal, grow, and prepare for their forever family. Learn more about what it takes to foster here.
